We had gone for children’s home at kahawa sukari as Technician Family in collaboration with BBCM. After the arrival were we delegated different roles: those who went to cook, others to play with the kids, others cleaning the environment, others to do some repairs that needed to be done and the rest to do some laundry. The majority did the laundry because the work was bulky I was among them. Everybody was happy and did the duty with absolute enthusiasm. The kids were very happy to see these new visitors who had come to visit them. They were entertained by those of us who knew how. There were swings where most of us went first as we reminded ourselves how it used to feel swinging during our childhood.
Now I remember that as one of those ladies we were together with swung something that left me completely uncomfortable happened. She wore a black skirt that came above her knees when she sat down, when she went to swing the person they were together pushed her vigorously that her white biker was exposed. Well this could be said to have happen accidentally but the problem is I saw, ‘lofty things’ that I wasn’t supposed to see. What happened next in my private life only God, satan and I knows. We left the children’s home at around 5pm everyone rejoicing in our hearts that we had done something that glorified God.
Well my short story is just among many experiences that men have experienced even in church circles. Yes I admit the fact that male lust and that’s how they were created but were not to created lust for any women they come across. Though I justified myself and placed all the blame on that lady who aroused my body every time we met, I wasn’t good either. The implication shows that I had I disease that I had not dealt with. I thank God because through this he exposed the naked truth of my heart. Lots of men struggle with lust either consciously or subconsciously. It’s hard for an average man not to scrutinize any woman who comes across and concentrate on particular areas. Most of them think that it’s just a normal thing but when you scrutinize a woman from the head to the toe then pay close attention to ‘particular’ areas what are you looking for, man? Some of the men cannot help themselves but look. This happens even to those of us who are followers of Jesus Christ.
Men allow me ask this question. For instance you were walking on the street and coming on the opposite direction is beautiful lady, after she has passed do you struggle with the temptation of wanting to ‘confirm’ what you have seen? Well, truth be told, women are created beautiful. But the issue is, we go beyond looking at the general beauty and start concentering on particular areas (the breasts, hips and thighs). Right?
But men let’s face it like real men. Where have we got this kind of behavior? Were our great grandfathers looking women as we look at them? Did they struggle with lust like we do nowadays? Did their look on women focus on ‘particular areas’? Did they concentrate with figures; figure 8, 6, y, x and such nonsense? Were men driven by lust like today? What is the source of this pervasion? Is it Media, internet…etc.? One of the greatest advances in this New Era is the tremendous advancement in technology but the same technology has been the source of so many evils that are happening in our society today.
Media has been the major source through TV programs like soap operas, secular movies, secular songs, ads, romantic novels and social media that we have got this ‘madness’. The sad truth is; MOST OF THE MOVIES JUST LEAVES YOU LUSTIER THAN YOU WERE BEFORE. Big percentage of what comes through media teaches us to look at a woman how they are figured out, their hips, lips, breasts and even thighs. That’s what these avenues expose to us. Of course they degrade the dignity of women and the inward beauty of women is completely suppressed and now ladies define their beauty by their outward figures. They struggle to wear decently; yes they want to show their ‘particulars’ to the whole world in the name of showing their beauty. Sadly even in the church. As a result, what we have been given birth to is sexy generation.
Sex has been preached in many avenues that right now the dignity of sex as God intended it to be has been lost. To get this right you just need to go to a group of youths and boldly say that you are a virgin. The reaction of that statement shall expose to you the reality of things. If such is the condition of the youths who are not married how about those who are married. I think, hoping that I’m wrong, that we may go to the extent of people struggling not to be virgins.
Currently there is a trending cliché popularized through social media and other avenues of “team mafisi”. This is bunch of men who have shamelessly declared their high affinity to sex and what they mean is that they are so greedy for sex like hyena is for carcasses. Isn’t that grievous? This is madness of highest order! For them they are after sex. In fact if you’re not in this category you’re deemed abnormal. Every woman who comes across them is a sex object. This is the reason such men committing adultery is not even an issue yes the so called ‘mpango wa kando.’ All this is propagated by men under the bondage of lust, driven by sex instincts to such extends that they cannot control. I fear that where we are going, sex is going to be done in the public in a broad daylight. The unfortunate thing is that all these things are turning our societies into a big mess. The issues of sexual immoralities are uncountable and sexual pervasions. The society’s value of sex is eroded; the dignity of sex is completely lost. But this should not be surprise because these things the bible states clearly that will happen on these last days.
If such is the condition of our society, is there any hope for this generation to be saved. Of course there is. The only solution is if all men could turn their hearts to God and surrender. Unless Jesus through the Holy Spirit convicts men of their sins they cannot change. All these situations in as far as we may say they are fruits of the flesh, they are symptoms of diseased hearts, hearts that only the Great Physician can heal them.

But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart and these make man ‘unclean.’ For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.
